Liberty Enlightening the World

A gift from the people of France, the Statue of Liberty (formally, "Liberty Enlightening the World" or, in French, "La Liberté éclairant le monde") stands watch in New York Harbor.

An icon of freedom and of the United States, the statue is of a colossal robed female figure representing Liberty, derived from Libertas. A broken chain lies at her feet. She is bearing a torch in her upraised right hand and, in her left arm, a "tabula ansata" (a tablet evoking the law) inscribed with the date of the American Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776.

For our Fourth of July greeting, we made a short film; spending an evening with Lady Liberty, the New York Harbor and an HD-camera-equipped drone. Flying the drone was done with permission. Our thanks to the National Park Service for the film permits and permissions for the pilots to fly and film on Liberty Island.

The film's musical score is titled, "From Humble Beginnings."

We suggest that you view the film in full-screen mode to enjoy the detailed view of one of our country's symbols of liberty.
